Dana provides drive and motion systems for tracked and wheeled cranes with a wide range of lift capacities. Our Spicer^® and Brevini^® solutions feature the latest technologies to keep cranes running efficiently, reliably, and safely even in the most demanding environments.

Dana has been supplying the 8-speed transmission specifically for the 4x4 terminal tractor for many years, offering superior gear selection in forward and backward direction of the vehicle.

Recently the product moved to the next generation of electronic controls, providing even better shifting comfort and performance. An optional lockup is now offered to create higher efficiencies, resulting in lower fuel consumption and emissions.

Our industrial powershift transmission, specifically designed for forklifts, with a very long and consolidated positive results from this market, is ideal for all ground support equipment (GSE) applications in the airport service: tow tractors, baggage tractors, belt loaders, passenger steps, and lavatory vehicles; as well as in railway stations and ports.

Available on shelves and flexible in use, the technical features of our powershift transmissions contribute to the main objectives of GSE vehicles. Since industrial powershift transmissions are designed for heavier applications, they fulfill GSE needs better than automotive transmissions, providing greater reliability and robustness over the vehicle’s lifetime, as well as higher working performances.

Dana has a long history of providing transmissions for railway maintenance vehicles, shunters, and small locomotives, offering specific options as disconnects and power take-offs. More and more transmissions with electronic controls demonstrate better shifting comfort and higher protection levels. Dana’s products are a cost-efficient solution for these applications.

Dana provides motor controllers with high dynamics and precision of control, as well as a flexible software platform for fast development and validation of vehicles. We also offer  IPM motors to obtain the highest efficiency and compactness. SRIPM, SR, and ACI motors are also available.
